AX-UAA Poster Fiasco

This was brought to our attention and we are posting this statement so that others may know that AirsoftXtreme Magazine is doing forum-shopping to spread issues about Popular Airsoft rather than stick to its issue with the United Airsoft Alliance (UAA) so we may have to inform the editor of AX to get his facts straight. You can also post this reply in your own airsoft forums.

We found out that the editor of AX has received the email regarding the issue as based on what he is posting in airsoft forums. But he has not replied to us even if he has received it. But as we read their statement, they are attempting to obfuscate the issue and instead attacking Popular Airsoft directly. We are trying to get to the story straight, but we guess with their reaction, they seem to be unreasonable to deal with. Some sources inform us that there are also speculations that AirsoftXtreme Magazine, together with ACMairsoft.org are doing another round of "digital manipulation" to get away from the issue and blame PopularAirsoft.

Also we got confirmation that UAA will finally file CRIMINAL charges against AirsoftXtreme Magazine, and also will be included is ACMairsoft.org.

To the editor of AX Magazine:

On "mudslinging"

Please read this at http://www.popularairsoft.com/news/airsoft-xtreme-magazine-gets-ax-...... for further details, and read well:

"Editor's Note: This was emailed to us today. We have asked our sources in the Philippines if this is true. We were sent the link at http://acmairsoft.com/index.php?topic=5554.0 and was verified by our sources. We also asked our writers from the Philippines to email all parties involved in this. We are posting this since it is properly submitted to us in the name of fair reporting.

We shall post any statements from the United Airsoft Alliance and AirsoftXtreme Magazine regarding this to clarify the issue. You'll need to register and login to read this at ACMAirsoft.com and the language is a mix of Filipino and English. Full text below:"

Furthermore, we weren't the only ones who were sent the email. If you noticed Airsoftnews.EU and NLairsoft.com also got the news and posted it accordingly.

We research well, and we get our facts straight.

Furthermore, your math is wrong also on the email sending. Our email server is based in the US so there's a great disparity in time. I hope you know the word "TIME ZONE" since you are an "editor".

You never did reply to our email and resorted to forums trying to cloud the issue that is being discussed. We're willing to publish your statement. If you are an editor, you stick to the issue, right?

On Lock n Load Airsoft Magazine (An airsoft magazine in the Philippines)

AX Editor said:

For those who are not in the know, Popular Airsoft used to be a printed magazine which went under the title, “Lock and Load”. Before “Lock and Load” the was “HIT”. Ironically, “Hit” came long before AX and it also puzzles me why it “missed”. Neither did “Lock and Load” go beyond their 2nd issue.

HELLO??? Did you research well about the company that owns the Popular Airsoft? We are a British company based in London called Billion Tribes Limited. Our company is based in the city of London itself. We are in no way related to the publishers of Lock n Load, and having former staff of Lock N load as our Philippine-based contributors does not mean the Popular Airsoft is the same as Lock n Load. All our operations are conducted from London.

As an editor, I give you advice, GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT! Here's our full company details:

Flops?

AX Editor said:

It would be safe to assume that Popular Airsoft is a reincarnation of these two “flops”.

Now, this is contentious, since you've been associating Popular Airsoft with two publications that Billion Tribes Limited had no dealing whatsoever with these.

Furthermore, Popular Airsoft will be releasing the 5th issue of the Magazine tomorrow, and it is 333 pages long. Is this a sign that our magazine is about to become a "Flop"? We will overtake you come September. You are almost two years old, and how many have you released? 6 issues? We only started February 2008 and here we are, launching our 5th issue in 5 months. So get your facts straight again.

Actually, what you just said is borderline libelous and an act of defamation. I think you will need a good lawyer with what I will add at the bottom of this posting.

So another advice to you if you really know what you do. Stick to your issue with UAA as THAT IS THE ISSUE ALL ALONG. We're just here to report what was sent to us after verifying that there is a story all along. I don't think you do.

On an Impending Lawsuit

Now, since we mentioned that you may really need a good lawyer. The president of UAA, Atty. Tabujara, (he's easier to reach than you actually, you showed a copy of the email so you should have replied) just said this officially and sent via SMS (texting as you call it in the Philippines in case you also don't know what the meaning of SMS is) as he allowed us to quote him:

the complaint agains ax was brought forth and raised by fallujah in behal of uaa during the joint tradeshow and afad meeting at megamall last 1 july. the afad tradeshow thru ms marie villar, its president, ordered ax to remove its falsified version of the gun show poster. immediately after the end of the gunshow uaa will file criminal charges of falsification of private document and libel against ax publisher and editorial board and admins of acmairsoft.org - fallujah

Furthermore:

"...we are just waiting to get a copy of their 6th issue for our libel charge"

Since we reported on the issue, the PDF copy of AX issue 6 will be furnished to lawyers if so requested to aid in the legal proceedings. Please take note that page 77 contains the altered ad/poster that has stricken off UAA from the list.

So, it's official that you will be facing a lawsuit after the event. You will surely need the lawyer dearly.

Now, something that really baffles us is this part that you said...

To begin with, AX as a company had no intention of altering the Gun Show advertisement. I personally gave my guarantee to the event organizers that AX will promote the Gun Show beginning with a pre-event article, a posting of the event banner at ACM.Airsoft.Org and AX6, coverage of the entire 5-day event and a post-event article. As per a “gentleman’s agreement”, I had to get the said poster on ACM.Org but admins had made it clear that the ad will not run unless it was “suitable” for release which simply meant that a certain group name had to be omitted.

I think it's common sense to get from AFAD the poster since they are the main organisers of the event. You are in touch with them right? Why rely on ACMairsoft.org? Is ACMairsoft.org the organiser of the event?

If you are truly an editor, you know what to do. Editors are supposed to be resourceful, intelligent, and on their toes. But with that kind of thinking, we are surely doubting if you are.

So stick to the issues on hand, reply to UAA, be responsible. We are above the problem as we just report as news happens and where it happens. We don't alter our facts in the first place, as that's being true journalists. We don't even censor what our writers write.

So don't drag us to your conflict with UAA as we are not part of it.

Let me remind you again, you haven't replied to our email regarding the REAL ISSUE. We're waiting and we promise you we're going to print your statement why you did alter the AFAD poster. Please don't go forum-shopping with your facts totally wrong.

We remain,

Popular Airsoft
